Saturday Leisure Biking Trips
***Most of these trails have no restroom facilities.
So stopping at a fast food place or gas station might be a good idea before coming to the starting point.
$ = 3 dollar charge for use of trail if over age 16.
May 22 *Packerland Drive Trail (Using Celebration Church as a reference point, Hidden Valley Park is about 20 minutes away. Think of where you are located and plan accordingly).
Biking starts at 11:00am in the parking lot of Hidden Valley Park on the corner of Waube Lane and Packerland Drive across from the Schneider’s Building. All blacktop trail through businesses and along a creek and natural areas. Eating at end of trip at Bentley’s on Packerland Drive. Biking 6+ miles round trip.
June 12 *$ Mountain Bay Trail from Anston to Pulaski (Using Celebration Church as a reference point, Anston is 30 minutes away. Think of where you are located and plan accordingly).
Biking starts at 11:00am in Anston at the Mountain Bay Trail Parking Lot. This Trail is hard packed crushed pea-size gravel. It is a great country ride with trees, fields and a few bridges over local creeks.
Directions: Take 41/141 North from Green Bay to exit #176 (Sunset Beach Road) County Hwy B. Turn left on Sunset Beach Road (County Hwy B). Travel about 6 miles. Turn left on County Hwy C to Anston. In about 3 miles Mountain Bay Trail parking lot will be on your right. Eating at McDonald’s mid trip. Biking 8+ miles round trip.
June 26 *Old Plank Road Trail in Sheboygan, WI (Using Celebration Church as a reference point, Old Plank Road Trail is about 75 minutes away. Think of where you are located and plan accordingly).
Biking starts at 11:00am in the parking lot at the trail-head of Old Plank Road Trail. This trail is all blacktopped winding through woods, crops and the countryside.
Directions: Take Highway 43 south from Green Bay to Sheboygan. Use exit 126 and follow East 23. Watch for and follow the brown signs with arrows pointing the way to Old Plank Road Trail. Eating at the Mucky Duck at end of trip. Biking 10 miles round trip.
July 10 *Luxemburg/Casco Ahnapee Trail Trip (Using Celebration Church as a reference point, Luxemburg is 30 minutes away. Think of where you are located and plan accordingly).
Biking starts at 11:00am in the parking lot of Harvest Community Church in Luxemburg.
The trail has crushed pea-sized gravel. This is a beautiful country ride. There is a Gas Station stop mid trip. Eating at Sony’s Pizza at the end of the trip.
Directions: Take Hwy 54 to Luxemburg. Go thru stoplight. Then take second street to right on Rockledge Road. Park at Harvest Community Church parking lot. Biking 11+ miles round trip.
July 24 *CE Trail from Kaukauna to Appleton, WI. (Using Celebration Church as a reference point, Kaukauna is 45 minutes away. Think of where you are located and plan accordingly).
Biking starts at 11:00am at the Kaukauna High School parking lot. This is a blacktopped trail through neighborhoods and the countryside. There are a couple hills and a few high traffic intersections. Most intersections have a walk light.
Directions: Take Hwy 41 south. Take exit # 148, Hwy 55 south into Kaukauna. Follow Hwy 55 south through town until you see CE road. Turn left on CE. Go to next intersection. Turn right onto Loderbauer Street. Then turn right into driveway of Kaukauna High School parking lot. Park on the south end of the lot. We will eat mid trip at Cinders. Biking 11 miles round trip.
August 14 *East River Trail in DePere (Using Celebration Church as a reference point, Kaukauna is 45 minutes away. Think of where you are located and plan accordingly).
Biking starts at 11:00am at Ledgeview Park on Dickinson Street (county hwy G) in DePere. A beautiful tree lined blacktopped trail following the East River through parks and backyards. Lunch near the end of the trip at the Village Grill on Hoffman Rd. Biking 13+ miles round trip.
August 28 *Nicolet Road Trip in Green Bay (Using Celebration Church as a reference point, Communiversity Park is 10 minutes away. Think of where you are located and plan accordingly).
Biking starts at 11:00am in Communiversity Park on Nicolet Road near the University of WI, Green Bay. We will be biking to Nicolet Landing. The road follows the bay of Green Bay. There are some very unique homes, flowers and fresh country air along the way. Eating at the Hilltop Café that is part of the BP Gas Station on Bay Settlement Road at end of trip. Biking 12 miles round trip.
September 11 *Mariner’s Trail in Manitowoc (Using Celebration Church as a reference point, Manitowoc is 45 minutes away. Think of where you are located and plan accordingly).
Biking starts at 11:00am in the parking lot of the YMCA on this beautiful blacktopped trail right next to Lake Michigan. You might even see the huge ferryboat in route.
Directions: Take Hwy 43 south to exit #152 to East Hwy 10 and Hwy 42 North into Manitowoc. When you see Lake Michigan, Hwy 42 turns left, but you must turn right on to Maritime Drive. Keep traveling south on Maritime Drive until you see the YMCA. Use the far left side of the parking lot away from the YMCA building. Eating is at Kurtz’s mid trip. Biking 13 miles round trip.
Grand Final Trip Friday, September 24 to Sunday, September 26.
Sparta, WI
Biking through at least 2 of the four tunnels as a group. Make sure you have a flashlight.
Friday
Meet at Celebration church at 8:45am with a leave time of 9:00am sharp! We will go as a group in our separate cars to Sparta, WI, which is four hours away.
Directions: Take Hwy 41 south to Hwy 21 west with a lunch stop in Wautoma at Taco Bell, Mc Donald’s or Lakeshore Family Restaurant. Arrival at Country Inn Suites at 2pm. Then leaving hotel at 3:00pm to ride on the Elroy-Sparta Trail to go through our first tunnel. Biking is about eight miles round trip on hard packed pea-sized gravel trial. Pizza at a local restaurant on Hwy 71.
Saturday
Leave hotel for Omaha Trail at nine. After a 12 mile round trip ride on black top there is free time for exploring on your own.
Sunday
Church service in Art and Beth’s room at 10:00am for a half hour service. Then it is check out time and homeward bound.
